First, if you require a broadband connection with down-load and up-load speeds in excess of 1 mbps down and .5 mbps up, or you use SKYPE, any voice over internet devices, Lime Wire, KAZA or any other file sharing software, and or upload and download files, video’s and audio file in excess of 50 megabits you need to obtain a dedicated connection outside the communities WIFI network. If you wish to connect to the Resorts WIFI Network then you need to prepare your computer before you arrive. These measures as described below are basic protections that provide security over your information as well as our WIFI Network. All of the following measures must be met in order connection to the resorts WIFI Network.

Note—Apple computer users are exempt from this program.

Operating Software: Microsoft 2000, ME, XP,Vista or W7 operating systems must be current with Microsoft high priority updates.
Instructions- press “Start”, “All Programs”, Microsoft Update. When the MS update box displays “Keep your computer up to date”, press “Express-Get high priority updates” your computer checks for latest updates. Follow the installation instructions.

Antivirus Software: Norton and McAfee are th4 only accepted antivirus software
programs that are authorized to be compatible with the network. Free antivirus software packages such as AVG have not proven to adequately protect computers and networks and therefore do not qualify.You can obtain Norton and McAfee software packages by downloading directly from the internet www.norton.com and www.McAfee.com  or by purchasing them from: Best Buy, Circuit City Fry’s Electronics, Target, or Wal-Mart.

Spyware Software: There are many spyware software packages available. We have focused on just a few recommended by www.PCmagazine.com that can be downloaded from the internet via www.download.com, www.webroot.com and www.McAfee.com. These can also be purchased from retail stores.Note—spyware software called “Spybot” is acceptable. It is free and can be downloaded from the internet through www.download.com

We recomend that you obtain a USB range extender antenna to enhance your computer’s ability to capture and send back  the WIFI signal. You can purchase these devices at your local retailer or on line.
